a really quick and rough guide on how i approach hands! it kind of skips the step where it’s really important to study real hands, but this is my general approach to doing quick but strongly posed cartoony hands

tl;dr: the hand is like a mitten with its posing and flow, then u add fingers i guess

AU where karkat is an edgelord 19 yr old that works the night shift at a 24hr 7eleven and dave is a local asshole that buys stuff at weird hours and rearranges the snack aisles and raps near slushie station and has secrets and generally makes karkat want to pull his hair out

okay some more thoughts on this complete bs

- kk works at 7-eleven in the night shift and going to college for sociology during the day bc school is fucking expensive and he needs to eat and be able to pay for all the coffees that keeps him going as he runs on like 3hrs of sleep a day

- dave doesn’t go to school, and almost exclusively visits the store at the weirdest hours. he usually buys junk food or doesn’t buy anything at all and just stands around and bugs karkat

- sometimes dave comes in and buys bandaids, or lighters and doesn’t say much to karkat and that always makes kk concerned despite himself

- eventually karkat accepts dave’s ridiculous visits to him as it becomes almost a daily occurence and eventually they get into this weird routine of kk doing his course work (because barely anyone comes in in the dead of night anyways) and dave will play music on his phone and sometimes leave karkat shitty drawings in his note taking book that he later finds while in lectures (which he instantly covers up when terezi asks him if he drew that)
